Just a reminder, tonight is youth night at the baseball games which will be played at Community Field. JV baseball will be played at 5:30 with varsity to follow. All youth players wearing their jerseys will get in free in addition to youth coaches as well!

Here are the schedule updates for tonight's baseball and softball games.
Varsity softball only starting at 7:00p.m. at Danville.
JH Baseball at Danville will be one game only starting at 7:00p.m.
JH Softball at New London will be one game onlystarting at 7:00p.m.

Tonight's high school baseball and softball games will take place as originally scheduled, at West Burlington. Baseball will be varsity first starting at 5:30 followed by JV. Softball will be JV first at 5:30 followed by varsity.

Here are the updates for tonight's baseball and softball games as of 3:00 p.m.:
Both JH Baseball and Softball games scheduled to be played in Danville are postponed.
The HS Baseball and Softball games vs. West Burlington will now both be played at the West Burlington fields starting at 5:30 p.m. At 4:00, if the fields are still too wet, we will make a determination whether or not to play both JV & Varsity at 5:30 p.m., or just Varsity only at 7:00 p.m.
We will send another message shortly after 4:00 p.m. with an update on the final decision for tonight's high school games.

Good afternoon,
I apologize for the late changes, but due to poor field conditions on our baseball field, the JV/V Baseball games that were to be played in Danville will now be played in Mediapolis, starting with JV at 5:30.
The JH baseball games originally scheduled to take place in Mediapolis for tonight have been postponed until Tuesday June 24, and will be played in Danville, starting with 7th grade at 5:30.
The JH softball games scheduled for tonight in Mediapolis will take place as planned, with the bus leaving at 4:15 PM. High school softball will still continue to play a varsity doubleheader in Danville tonight starting at 5:30 PM.
Thanks,
Amber Taeger
GO BEARS!

Good afternoon,
Tonight's high school baseball and softball games at Central Lee will be played VARSITY FIRST, starting at 5:30 p.m., to attempt to avoid potential bad weather entering the area later this evening. JV will follow the varsity games, weather permitting.
Thanks,
Amber Taeger
Activities Director

Today we honored DCSD staff members who have reached milestone years of service — from 5 to 35 years of dedication to our students, school, and community. 🐻🏆
Whether it’s five years or three and a half decades, each year represents time spent making a difference, building relationships, and shaping young lives. We are grateful for the heart, hard work, and commitment each of these team members brings to #BearNation!

In preparation for our Annual Elementary Field Day tomorrow (5/22), Mr. Roger's Bear Designs team brought their creative energy and expertise to help our Elementary students place and press their very own grade-level Field Day shirts! 👕🐻
Each grade created something special, and the kids had a blast with the hands-on process. Big shoutout to the Bear Designs team for bringing the fun (and the heat press)!

Today, as the Class of 2025 threw their caps in the air, we celebrated not only their achievements but also their strength and unity. 🎓🐻
Graduation weekend began on a meaningful note this past Friday, as students and staff came together to release balloons in memory of their classmate, Mason Roberts. It was a touching tribute that reminded us all of the bonds formed over these years—and the lasting impact of those we've lost but never forgotten. 💚
Congratulations, Class of 2025. Mason will forever be a part of your journey.

To celebrate the end of the year, members of the Danville Spanish Club, along with advisor Amber Taeger, headed to downtown Burlington for a fun and cultural experience!
The group enjoyed a delicious meal at Lindo Mexico, where many students stepped out of their comfort zones to try new foods and drinks. A special thanks to owner, Maria, who spent time sharing her story, family traditions, and heritage with our students.
The celebration wrapped up with sweet treats from Mississippi Moon Ice Cream Parlor — the perfect way to end a fantastic year of learning, friendship, and fun.

Yesterday, students from Mr. Rose’s World History II class took a short walk up to the Danville Station to tour the newly constructed WWII Railcar Exhibit — featuring an authentic railcar like those used to transport Jews to concentration camps during the Holocaust.
While there, students also learned about the Postcard Project, a powerful initiative to collect 1.5 million postcards from around the world — each one representing a child who lost their life during the Holocaust.
What an incredible gem to have just blocks away from our school. A big thank you to the Danville Station for providing such a meaningful and moving experience to our students.
To learn more about the exhibit or get involved in the Postcard Project, visit danvillestation.net or follow Danville Station on Facebook!

Our Junior High and High School students and staff rolled up their sleeves and made a difference during our first-ever Bears Give Back Day! 🐻
From picking up trash around town and at the city park, to clearing debris from fence lines, pulling weeds, and washing windows — our students showed what it means to take pride in their school and community.
We’re proud of the effort & teamwork they put into every project. Way to go, Bears!
