Our 4 year old preschool class uses Creative Curriculum. The classroom is divided into nine interest areas; blocks, dramatic play, toys & games, art, library, discovery, sand & water, music, and computers. Preschool students have their own outdoor playground area. Students are assessed three times per year and parent-teacher conferences are conducted in the fall and the spring.

Four-year-old preschool, located in the Danville Early Learning Center, meets four days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesday's teachers plan and prepare activities. The four-year-old program is part of the State Wide Voluntary Preschool Program, therefore Iowa residents are not required to pay tuition. The focus of the class is to provide students with activities that will prepare them for kindergarten.

The students use the Jolly Phonics program to learn the sounds of the letters. Handwriting Without Tears is used to write the upper and lowercase letters. A weekly theme is used and activities are planned that incorporate math concepts, literacy, science, social studies, and music. The maximum class size is 20 students.
