State Parent/Guardian Technology Access Survey Danville CSD Parents and Families, The State of Iowa would like to ask you about technology access for your household. This information will help in planning for next school year, should learning from home need to occur because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We understand that many of you have already filled out a survey that we sent out earlier. Our district encourages you to complete this survey so your technology barriers are known to the State. • The survey should take less than five minutes to complete. • The survey only needs to be taken one time for your entire household. • In your responses, only include students who will be in grades preschool through twelfth grade, or participating in post-secondary education, during the 2020-21 school year. • There is a drop-down in the upper left corner of the survey to change the survey language from English to Spanish. If your household needs the survey in another language, contact Superintendent Thomas Ward at email@example.com Please click on the link below to take the short survey about the learners in your household. The survey will be available through June 24th. http://bit.ly/iowatechsurvey If you have any difficulties while completing the survey, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact our Superintendent Thomas Ward at email@example.com or Technology Coordinator Lucas Gourley at firstname.lastname@example.org. With this virus holding a grip on many of us, it has made the Danville Community School District take a look on how we need to deliver services to ALL our students. Many reports express the concern of this reoccurring in the future with the possibility of more closures. Through our Technology Coordinator, Lucas Gourley, the District has developed a survey concerning high quality internet in each of our student's homes not just having a "hot spot" location available. We are asking each household with a student or students to please fill out the survey linked at the bottom or email your responses to firstname.lastname@example.org. Connectivity in rural Iowa is a major issue of the inequality we face not only in education but in all walks of life. Over these past months we have seen families needing to work from home and at the same time try to provide online education for their students. This is an issue that needs to be addressed by our state and local governments, and not from any local school district. Thank you for your assistance in this project and always "Go Bears". Yours in education, Dr. Ward, Superintendent Lucas Gourley, Technology Coordinator Google Survey Link - https://forms.gle/Yw4VACpwZmxMAeCz8

As we set our sites on a long weekend, I want to take this opportunity to thank all those for a great start to the 2019-2020 school year. A new school year presents many opportunities for various beginnings and this year is no exception. As I look around our site, we are witnessing the foundation of our future with this construction and the changes being made in the education of the students. With everything that is taking place we will be faced with many challenges but I am sure we will meet them and move on. As we approach our first three-day weekend of this year it represents a holiday that was signed into law on June 28, 1894, by President Grover Cleveland at the height of the Industrial Revolution. It is my feelings that this day is for all of us; housewives, farmers, teachers, business owners, law enforcement, firefighters and every single individual that contributes to society. This weekend symbolizes the end of summer for many of us and is celebrated with parties and family get-togethers. You all deserve this time so be safe, have fun, relax and I will see everyone next month! Yours in education and GO BEARS!!!
Any high school student interested in being in Yearbook can come to a meeting during lunch on Thursday, September 5. We will meet the new advisor in the high school commons.
